In order to find his beautiful sister Europa, who was taken by Zeus, Kadmo lived in many Greek cities, until he settled down in Beot and founded famous Theb, following the Delphi prophecy.To reward him, Gods gave Kadmo enchanthing Harmony, the daughter of God Ares and Aphrodite to be his wife.
At a certain point, when they were old, the dice loaded once more, and spouses where expelled from Thebes and headed for the land of Enhelejas, where they founded a new city, Budva (Bouthoe). Legend says that Budva was named after the oxen which brought Kadmo and Harmony to this part of our marvelous country.
At the end of his life, Kadmo wondered why he was so cruelly punished by fate. Believing that everything was the result of killing the divine dragon, Kadmo had a last wish and asked Gods to turn him into serpent. Gods not only fulfilled his desire, but at the same time, they allowed Harmony, Kadmo’s great love, to share his destiny. Both of them, in the bodies of the snakes, finally found happiness in one of the Budva shrubs. The rest is legend, and as we know, legends never die.
